The USA EB-5 Investor Visa offers a direct pathway to U.S. residency for foreign investors who establish a new business or invest in an existing one that was created or restructured after November 19, 1990. To qualify, an applicant must invest at least $800,000 if the investment is made through a USCIS-designated regional center. The business must create or preserve a minimum of 10 full-time jobs for U.S. citizens or permanent residents. All invested funds must be obtained legally, and applicants must provide clear documentation of the source of their capital. Once the visa is issued, the investor must enter the U.S. within 180 days. Although EB-5 visa holders are not required to physically reside in the U.S. for a specific duration, they must demonstrate the intent to live as residents by actions such as renting or buying property, opening bank accounts, obtaining a Social Security number and driver’s license, and paying applicable U.S. taxes. Ultimately, this visa leads to a U.S. Green Card and the opportunity for citizenship.
